ADVANTAGES
High-performance servers for high-energy physics and grid computing
The European Organization for Nuclear Research, commonly known as CERN, is the largest particle physics laboratory in the world, located on the border between Switzerland and France, on the western outskirts of the city of Geneva, in the municipality of Meyrin. The main purpose is to provide researchers with the necessary tools for research in high-energy physics, ie mainly particle accelerators. Since 2006, E4 has provided CERN with HPC hardware to support three very important experiments: ATLAS, LHC, LHCb.
Given the enormous amount of data to be processed and stored, deriving from events significant for the outcome of the experiments, CERN constantly needs: very high computational power, very high levels of reliability with failure rates close to 0%, large quantities of PB of storage. E4 has provided the customer over the years: 10000+ high density HPC servers, with high availability features; 39000+ big data storage hard drives for a total of 120+ PB and after sales services.
The advantages encountered by the customer concern above all the stress tests carried out in advance on the systems, which ensure failure rates close to 0%, the extremely competitive prices and the high-level technical know-how of the engineers of our team.
