e-GEOS is an international leader in the area of geospatial technologies for Earth observation. Thanks to proprietary resources and algorithms, it integrates data from all the satellites with IoT data gathered from various sources, creating a BigData set from which all the e-GEOS platforms are able to extract significant indicators. The volume of data processed is high, so the company required high performance analysis of satellite data, as well as for mission critical services.
The sophisticated workflow of e-Geos required an extremely personalized configuration of system resources which needed to provide mission critical services, reduce I/O bottlenecks, and ensure a high level of computing and storage power. E4 has thus developed an HPC solution with enterprise level HA characteristics able to ensure the highest performance and continuity of service composed of Intel high density Servers (twin 2U – 4 computing nodes in a 2U chassis) for a total of 96 dual socket computing nodes interconnected using Mellanox Infiniband FDR 56Gb/s technology + 500TB of storage with Lustre parallel file system. Computing times are thus drastically reduced.
To the implementation of the highly customized system to respond to customer needs, E4 has also added support service with remote cluster monitoring. Thanks to this operation, E4 guarantees the customer constant operation of the system and continuous systems support.
